Russell Flint enjoyed working with the medium of red chalk,
as he was able to produce the finer textures than his use of other mediums. Furthermore since it was monochrome, this highlighted the folds and shadows in the material.
The paper used would often be vey fine handmade material which can be seen in the image of this drawing.
